Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence with Potential Subsequent Appointment to a Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position Job Description: The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for working in decision support systems, data analytics, and artificial intelligence modeling in livestock production and related areas. With Departmental support, the incumbent will be eligible for a promotion to a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at the end of this fellowship, and a competitive start-up package will be negotiated. The program is seeking applicants that would enhance the diversity of teaching and research in the Department of Animal Science and College of Agriculture and Life Science. Job Responsibilities: The incumbent will work closely with the Area of Excellence Quantifiable Animal Performance in the Department of Animal Science and will be responsible for collecting and analyzing research data associated with livestock production, which may include nutrition, genetics, microbiology, behavior, or animal products. The successful candidate should possess training and expertise in statistics, data analytics, and mathematical models. Opportunities exist for grant writing experience, and the candidate will be expected to mentor and train both undergraduate and graduate students. Major duties: Study design and implementation, data collection and analysis, review of relevant literature, development of analytical methodologies, including computer models and decision support tools using artificial intelligence technologies, writing of manuscripts and reports writing, working with the mentor and advising committee for coordinating and managing relevant projects, development of analytical methodologies, and perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience. A PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Agriculture and Life Sciences, or closely related fields. It is desirable that applicants have experience working with statistical analyses, computer programming, model development and assessment, and artificial intelligence techniques. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Desirable attributes include (1) computational skills with modern programming languages and application development, (2) demonstrated communication skills, (3) demonstrated publication record, (4) ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others, (5) ability to work independently, (6) applicants are expected to be proactive, highly-organized, responsible individuals with a strong work ethic.
