Assistant or Associate Professor of Animal Sciences, Microbiome/Antimicrobial Resistance
The Department of Animal Sciences is seeking a highly qualified individual for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level within the broad fields of antimicrobial resistance in livestock ecosystems. Antimicrobial resistance is a biologically complex global problem that will require a multi-pronged response to reduce levels of antimicrobial resistant bacteria. This is a major challenge in animal production as there is a need for reducing antibiotic use. Therefore, the successful candidate will develop a nationally and internationally recognized program to develop innovative strategies to understand, prevent, control or reduce antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic usage in animal agroecosystems.
