The Assistant Professor of Veterinary Science faculty shall have the primary responsibilities of teaching, research/creative achievement and service functions and shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department. Teaching responsibilities will be divided between the Veterinary Medical Technology Program and the Veterinary Health Science Program. This position may also include assisting with the care and treatment of all animals required for research and teaching housed within the VHST facilities.

*DVM, VMD, BVMS, or equivalent degree from an AVMA-COE accredited university, LVT, RVT, CVT or equivalent degree from an AVMA-CVTEA accredited university plus completion of a graduate or professional degree within a veterinary related field of study, or graduate degree (PhD preferred) in animal science or related field; *current Tennessee state veterinary or veterinary technician licensure; *in good professional standing and a minimum of three years clinical experience in various settings; *educational preparation in accordance with requirements of the University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and *evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity
