The Department of Animal Science at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track open-rank faculty position in animal science, to begin in August 2024. We seek candidates with expertise in dairy or beef cattle production/management, or whose work is relevant to the animal health industry. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience working with businesses related to animal health or nutrition and can mentor animal science majors seeking careers in a broad range of fields.
Successful candidates are expected to establish a strong research program involving undergraduate students. Berry College has a working dairy, equine center, beef and sheep units, which are used in teaching and research. In addition to a commitment to high quality teaching and scholarship, the successful candidate should also possess a strong interest in service to the college community, including the mentoring of students in a residential college environment.
Our collegial department of eight faculty members strives for excellence in teaching animal science and mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds. The candidate should share our department's commitment to student engagement inside and outside of the classroom. The candidate will have opportunity to work with the student-run Berry Enterprises (https://www.berry.edu/studententerprises/farms) and the Campbell School of Business. Berry and the Animal Science Department are also committed to increasing the diversity of our faculty and staff. We welcome applications from all groups and strongly encourage women and persons of color to apply for this position.
