The Animal Science major in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences serves over 700 animal science students including approximately 200 equine-specific majors. The Campus Farm consists of 130 acres primarily devoted to horse operations and houses 60 to 110 horses at any given time including a lesson horse herd, a broodmare herd, youngstock, colts, and off-the-track Thoroughbreds. The farm is student-oriented with the primary responsibility to offer educational programs for undergraduate students in teaching and research.
