Missouri State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in Animal Science within the School of Agricultural Sciences & Conservation at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is for a member of the ranked faculty who has demonstrated achievement in the areas of teaching, research, and professional service appropriate to the discipline. The successful candidate will specialize in beef cattle production and nutrition, with expertise in the beef industry and cow-calf production systems. Teaching responsibilities; instructing standard load of nine undergraduate and/or graduate course credits per academic semester, advising, and supporting both undergraduate and graduate students as well as providing access to high impact practices for increasing student retention, persistence, and success. Research responsibilities: development of an active research program involving undergraduate and graduate (MS) students that results in peer-reviewed publications and applications for extramural funding to support research. The position offers the opportunity to focus on beef cattle, nutrition, or related disciplines. Candidates should engage in service to the school, college, and university.

This opening has been posted at the rank of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor; however, only one hire will be made. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: An earned terminal degree within the discipline is required. Required Qualifications - Ph.D. in Animal Science or a closely related field. - Ability to teach courses in animal science - Demonstration of active involvement in the Beef industry and cow-calf production in a non-academic setting. Additional Qualifications - - Potential for, or evidence of, application of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy. - Involvement and ability to engage undergraduate and graduate students in beef science research - A publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals - Ability or potential to mentor and support our student population - Effective oral and written communication skills.
